Yesterday’s post I talked about my battle with lemon cookies.
Like I said, I was in a rut with my chocolate chip cookies. Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with chocolate chip cookies.
Cuz there’s not.
It’s just that I knew that I needed to branch out and try a few different things. And with spring beginning to peek through the cold mornings, I really wanted to try something lemony.
I came across the recipe for Meyer Lemon Crackle Cookies on Tracey’s Culinary Adventures website. (a fabulous site by the way- lots of great recipes and beautiful pictures. Click on the picture to go there or go to http://www.traceysculinaryadventures.blogspot.com).
I love to make cookies (if you are a regular reader of Launch Your Creative Life you already know this!). But I’ve been in a cookie funk for a while. All I’ve been making is chocolate this and chocolate that.
Tracey's cookies looked so pretty when I came across her site. So inviting.
The fact that I didn't have Meyer lemons didn't stop me. How different is a lemon from a Meyer lemon.
It's possible having Meyer lemons is more important than I thought 
I’m not including pictures. They were not very pretty. My lemon cookies did not look like Tracey’s. (see picture below).
At first I was totally bummed. By the way, the above picture is Tracey's cookies, not mine!
But I did realize this was a new opportunity to grow in skills and learn how to perfect a new cookie. I’m going to tweak a few things in the recipe and try it again later this week. It’s high time I add another cookie to my “favorite’s category.”
This spring is really bringing out the lemony side of me. Lemon bars. Lemon cookies. Lemon cake. Pink Lemonade cake. What else can I make?
I’m into making lemonade from lemons. Pink lemonade if you please.
